Founded in 2001 as Thakur College of Engineering & Technology. Deemed to be University conferred in 2026 — the first in Maharashtra under the UGC 2023 regulations.
Recognition
Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 · Conferred by the Ministry of Education, Government of India · NAAC 'A' · NBA-accredited programmes · First deemed university in Maharashtra under the UGC 2023 regulations.
The Trust institutions have been building education infrastructure in Kandivali since 1995 — schools, junior colleges, and the engineering college that in 2001 became TCET. Thirty years of consistent, family-stewarded investment in the same square kilometre of Mumbai.
TCTE — Deemed to be University is the culmination of that arc. A single institutional authority now issues the degree, admits the student, and receives the fee. The Trust remains the custodian; the university carries the academic mandate.
